Terms and Conditions
1. Funding Your Treatment
The following outlines the available funding options for your treatment:
1.1 Health Insurance
It is the responsibility of the client to contact their health insurance provider before commencing treatment. You will need to provide your policy details, including the name of your insurer, policy number, authorisation code, and coverage level.
Please be aware that the coverage offered by private insurers can vary, and the process for obtaining treatment authorisation may differ between providers. Therefore, it is recommended that you verify the details of your policy directly with your insurer to understand what is covered.
If your insurance coverage ends, or if there is an excess on your policy, you will be responsible for settling any outstanding payments. Please note that the contractual agreement is between the client (or guarantor) and the treating therapist, not the insurance company.
1.2 Self-Funding
If you choose to self-fund your treatment, you agree to pay for your sessions. Payment can be made via cash, cheque, or bank transfer within 7 days of receiving the invoice.
2. Termination of Therapy
You have the right to discontinue therapy at any time. However, you will remain liable for any fees for services rendered up until the point of termination.
3. Cancellations
A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required for cancellations. If you cancel within 48 hours of your appointment, the full appointment fee will be charged.
If you are running late or unable to attend a session, it is your responsibility to inform your therapist. If no contact is made and you fail to arrive within the first 15 minutes of the scheduled session, the session may be treated as cancelled, and the full fee will apply.
4. Privacy Statement
In line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which came into effect on May 25, 2018, this policy outlines how your personal information is handled. It ensures that you are fully informed about the information held about you, and your rights to access, amend, and ensure its confidentiality.
Please take the time to read the Regal Private Therapy Practice Privacy Policy, which is available on the website. A hard copy can be provided upon request, either in person or via email. You should review this policy before signing the Terms and Conditions.
All therapists adhere to the ethical guidelines set out by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), which are accessible on their respective websites.
5. Consent to Third-Party Contact and Information Sharing
There are instances where it may be necessary to share relevant clinical information with other healthcare professionals or involved parties to ensure the best possible care. You will be asked to provide consent regarding which individuals or organisations can receive information about your treatment.
If you choose not to allow certain contacts, please be aware that this may limit your therapist’s ability to access necessary support or share information in emergencies. In such cases, confidentiality may need to be breached to protect your well-being. Detailed information regarding this is included in the Privacy Policy.
6. Consent to Contact
Your email address and/or phone number will be used for communication regarding appointment changes, and to send you relevant information such as worksheets and invoices. You will be asked to opt-in for such communications when signing your agreement.
7. Emergencies
Email and phone contact details are monitored between 9am and 5pm on weekdays. These channels are intended for scheduling appointments and responding to non-urgent inquiries.
In the event of a crisis outside of office hours, you are encouraged to follow your crisis plan (if one has been developed during therapy) or contact the Samaritans at 116 123, or seek immediate assistance by attending your local NHS A&E department.
